Frequently Asked Questions
What are your rates?
We charge $100 for 60 min, and $150 for 90 min.
What are my options for paying for services?
We are not contracted with any insurance providers, so payment is due at time of service. We accept cash, checks, or Venmo.
Why would I pay cash for a service my insurance covers?
Because we are not contracted with any insurances, this means we can treat you based on your needs and the demands of your life, without that treatment having to be approved by your insurance. For example, if both you and your therapist agree that you or your child continue to have concerns that need to be supported, you can continue to be seen on a schedule that makes sense to you, rather than be constantly at risk of being discharged.
Also you will likely need fewer visits to recover since you will be seen for 60-minute one-on-one visits with emphasis on self-management strategies and home programs. The combined cost of co-pays and your deductible for 2-3 visits per week at another clinic can add up to more than fewer visits at our clinic.
Do you accept Medicare?
Rise Therapy is not a participating provider with any insurance companies, including Medicare.
Do I need a referral from my doctor? Can it be from any medical provider?
Washington is a limited direct access state for Occupational Therapist, meaning, you do not need a referral to see an occupational therapist for evaluation (e.g. your first appointment), but you do need a referral for continued treatment. After your first appointment, we will obtain a referral from your provider of choice.
In Washington state, referrals for OT can come from: “a physician, osteopathic physician, podiatric physician and surgeon, naturopath, chiropractor, physician assistant, psychologist, optometrist, or advanced registered nurse practitioner licensed to practice in this state.”
How many sessions will I need?
The duration of sessions and length of care are individualized to each patient’s needs. Often, your success in therapy directly correlates to your compliance to the home exercise program provided. In other words, you can typically expect a shorter length of care if you regularly perform the recommended exercises. It is also important to note that some diagnoses require a longer course of care than others. We will work with you to determine the best course of treatment based on your needs, and are always transparent with our assessment.
What do I need to bring to my first appointment?
Please have completed all paperwork and read our Notice of Privacy Practices. Bring your medication lists and form of payment to your first appointment. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting or stretchy clothing.
